There is a stop on the MBTA Commuter Rail Framingham/Worcester Line that stops in downtown Framingham, 2.3 miles from the Danforth at Framingham State University.

From downtown Framingham, it is a little over an hour walk to the Danforth. Or, you can ride a MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) bus from the Commuter Rail station. The MWRTA uses the Flag down System which allows buses to stop anywhere along their routes where it is safe to pick up passengers. Passengers can hail MWRTA buses by waving.

Mention to the bus driver you are going to the Danforth and they will drop you off at the nearest spot on Edgell Road and point you to the front of the Museum. From there it is a 2-minute walk across Framingham Centre Common and around to the back of the Museum for our main entrance.
