Photographing Place and Time

A Panel Discussion

Sandra Matthews’ works in the exhibition Unearthing explores ideas on placemaking, gender narratives, and the passage of time. Join Jessica Roscio, the Director and Curator at The Danforth, as she moderates a panel discussion between artist Sandra Matthews; Dr. Laura Wexler, Yale University Professor of American Studies; and artist and MassArt Associate Professor of Photography Billie Mandle. Their discussions will attempt to address photography’s past interpretations of culture, gender, and picturing home to arrive at a broader understanding of photography today.

This event is free after admission to the Museum.
