Saturday Artist Session with Dinora Justice

Brazilian-American artist Dinora Justice was born in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and now lives in Newton, MA. She has both an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and a BFA from The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. Justice is represented in New England by Gallery NAGA.

“Through her visual vocabulary, Justice considers how potent forces—women, nature, decoration—that have historically been laid claim to, destroyed, or disparaged might instead liberate, strengthen, and inspire. Justice’s work invites the audience to consider the power relationships between artists, their subjects, and the wider world as stand-ins for our own relationships with gender and nature.”

For our Saturday Artist Sessions, artists active in the local community are invited to the Danforth Museum to share their work with the audience as they talk about their art and process. Guests have the chance to ask questions and talk with the artists in an informal setting. This is an opportunity to be inspired by artists not currently on view at the museum.
