Baseball and Henri Cartier-Bresson
A Virtual Lunchtime Lecture
Kick off the Red Sox 2026 home opener day with the Danforth!
Join Learning & Engagement Manager Katherine Tako-Girard for a one-hour lecture about Baseball Bleachers, a photograph made by legendary French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson and on view now in the Danforth’s exhibition, 1975-2025: Celebrating 50 Years of Collecting. In 1957, Cartier-Bresson visited Milwaukee on assignment for Sports Illustrated, where he made a photographic essay on American baseball. Though he had never seen a baseball game, his assignment was to capture the excitement for the national pastime. This lecture is delivered via Zoom. A link will be sent to participants prior to the lecture.
This program is $10. Registration is required.
